Not Just an Artist in an Art World

As anyone who reads this will know, art making has consumed my life. The majority of thought and emotion that exists within me is dedicating to painting, writing and producing music. But what may be less know is my other passion in art which is to write about it, to cover it and everything and everyone around it.

As a result I have forged and molded my job at Proxart Art Promotions to be that of a writer. I suppose my role would be that of an art critic and art reporter. I absolutely love doing this. I want to meet artists or creative people, I want to work with them and help them get their work out there. This is also why I do take my chosen minor of Art History so seriously, because it is not always, if ever, about one artist. Art is about cultural representation, or a sign post and reflection for what paths society is taking.

I want to play as large of a role as fate will allow me in the recording and observations of arts reflections upon modern culture, and society.

If you are reading this and you are an artist, I want to meet with you, talk with you, maybe even get inspired by you. Back in the late 19th century and early 20th, artists poets, actors, musicians etc etc would actively congregate in cafes and bars throughout Paris and the rest of Europe. The Internet makes this kind of congregation easier to do. So please make a comment or send me an email.

Finally, I am looking for artists to write about for I want to feature you on our proxart blog and maybe even do a full scale piece on you. Please write me if interested.

In any event keep interested and creating art, it is vital to the human existence.

  1. What a great idea. I too am creativly insane…it’s wonderful. 🙂 I create because I have too, it’s not a choice or a lifestyle, it’s destiny and fate and desire all wrapped into one. I too also love to talk, share and promote fantastic art. I’ll be adding your blog to my blogroll so I can keep up with you. Take care and stay inspired!
